Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Peru was $87,224,599, down 17.89% ($19,001,597) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $40,466,333, down 40.34% ($27,357,701) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $46,758,266, up 21.76% ($8,356,104) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Peru went from a surplus of $29,421,872 in the 1st quarter of 2018, to a deficit of $6,291,933 in the 1st quarter of 2019.

Peru was Russia’s 82nd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 80th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0554% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0674% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Peru was Russia’s 86th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 78th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0388% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0658% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Peru was Russia’s 73rd largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 76th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0882% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0703% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 48.33% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (53.66% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 24.32% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (2.66% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 15.76% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (18.49% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 7.08% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (2.38% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.05% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (21.84% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $909,165;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $748,537;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $372,171;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $279,327;

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $14,440,540;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $6,162,413;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $233,925;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $199,286.
