Russia’s Trade with Denmark

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Denmark was $966,955,140, down 33.45% ($486,040,238) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $666,938,237, down 43.40% ($511,424,919) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $300,016,903, up 9.24% ($25,384,681) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $366,921,334, a 59.40% decrease ($536,809,600) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Denmark was Russia’s 34th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 25th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.6040% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.8501% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Denmark was Russia’s 32nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 23rd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.6619% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.0693% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Denmark was Russia’s 35th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 37th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.5057% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4524% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Denmark

The major share of Russian exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 75.27% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (84.54% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.19% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (11.30% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.88% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (2.43% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 4.23% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (1.18% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $7,871,726;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $4,221,235.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $494,128,034;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $44,562,342.
