Russia’s Trade with France

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with France was $3,230,796,152, down 27.82% ($1,245,265,847) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to France in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $1,306,708,977, down 25.59% ($449,432,851) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from France in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $1,924,087,175, down 29.26% ($795,832,996) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with France in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $617,378,198, a 35.94% decrease ($346,400,145) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

France was Russia’s 15th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 12th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.0181% of Russia’s total trade (down from 2.6189% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

France was Russia’s 18th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 17th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.2968% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.5935% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

France was Russia’s 8th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 5th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 3.2433% of Russia’s total imports (down from 4.4803% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to France

The major share of Russian exports to France in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 82.56% of Russia’s total exports to France (87.05% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.34% of Russia’s total exports to France (3.70% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.67% of Russia’s total exports to France (3.50% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
