Russia’s Trade with Kuwait

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Kuwait totaled $120,194,227, up 129.17% ($67,747,250) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $119,137,057, up 127.18% ($66,695,202) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $1,057,170, up 20,539.79% ($1,052,048) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $118,079,887, a 125.19% increase ($65,643,154) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Kuwait was Russia’s 80th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 100th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0751% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0307% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Kuwait was Russia’s 68th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 86th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1182% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0476% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Kuwait was Russia’s 132nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 171st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0018% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0000% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Kuwait

The major share of Russian exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $892,426.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $5,370,576;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $978,413;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $607,568.
