Russia’s Trade with Montenegro

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Montenegro totaled $18,542,153, up 73.94% ($7,882,226) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $10,692,921, up 717.46% ($9,384,851) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $7,849,232, down 16.07% ($1,502,625) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Montenegro went from a deficit of $8,043,787 in the 2nd quarter of 2018, to a surplus of $2,843,689 in the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Montenegro was Russia’s 123rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 133rd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0116% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0062% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Montenegro was Russia’s 117th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 154th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0106% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0012% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Montenegro was Russia’s 101st largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 97th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0132% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0154% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Montenegro

The major share of Russian exports to Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 86.45% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (0.70% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 6.67% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (39.95% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.69% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (34.13% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.70% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (1.41% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - an increase of $161,140;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $119,273;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $102,815;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $88,811.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $255,434;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $152,527.

Russia’s Imports from Montenegro

The major share of Russian imports from Montenegro in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
