Russia’s Trade with Morocco
In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Morocco was $280,490,190, down 5.11% ($15,104,272) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Russia’s exports to Morocco in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $173,193,223, down 7.32% ($13,670,236) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Russia’s imports from Morocco in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $107,296,967, down 1.32% ($1,434,036) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Russia’s trade surplus with Morocco in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $65,896,256, a 15.66% decrease ($12,236,200) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Morocco was Russia’s 65th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 66th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1752% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1730% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
Morocco was Russia’s 60th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 63rd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1719% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1696% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
Morocco was Russia’s 59th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1809% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1791% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
Russia’s Exports to Morocco
The major share of Russian exports to Morocco in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 33.47% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (49.46% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 27.05% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (8.92% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 26.12% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (38.42% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

- Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - an increase of $2,911,005;
- Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $790,305.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Morocco in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $42,090,292;
- Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $29,530,020;
