Russia’s Trade with Taiwan
In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Taiwan was $1,304,957,840, down 26.58% ($472,420,591) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Russia’s exports to Taiwan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $814,827,378, down 34.05% ($420,770,420) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Russia’s imports from Taiwan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $490,130,462, down 9.53% ($51,650,171) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Russia’s trade surplus with Taiwan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $324,696,916, a 53.20% decrease ($369,120,249) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Taiwan was Russia’s 27th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 20th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.8151% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.0399% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
Taiwan was Russia’s 27th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 21st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.8086% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.1212% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
Taiwan was Russia’s 27th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 26th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.8262% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8924% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
Russia’s Exports to Taiwan
The major share of Russian exports to Taiwan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 51.31% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (44.66% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 42.86% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (50.12% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.99% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (3.71% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Taiwan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Taiwan
The major share of Russian imports from Taiwan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 70.26% of Russia’s total imports from Taiwan (72.66% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.46% of Russia’s total imports from Taiwan (13.98% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 10.70% of Russia’s total imports from Taiwan (7.76% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
- Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.57% of Russia’s total imports from Taiwan (1.67% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).
