Russia’s Trade with Thailand

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Thailand totaled $605,464,027, up 5.29% ($30,427,430) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $178,997,862, up 36.54% ($47,897,957) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $426,466,165, down 3.94% ($17,470,527) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $247,468,303, a 20.90% decrease ($65,368,484) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Thailand was Russia’s 42nd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 45th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3782% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3365% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Thailand was Russia’s 59th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 71st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1776% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1190% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Thailand was Russia’s 29th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 28th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.7189% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.7313% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Thailand

The major share of Russian exports to Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 45.52% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (14.43% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 15.54% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (28.72% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
