Russia’s Trade with Finland

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Finland was $3,505,364,108, down 0.60% ($21,224,545) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Finland in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $2,467,180,897, down 8.89% ($240,729,312) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Finland in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $1,038,183,211, up 26.81% ($219,504,767) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Finland in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $1,428,997,686, a 24.36% decrease ($460,234,079) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Finland was Russia’s 13th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 15th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.1133% of Russia’s total trade (up from 2.0495% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Finland was Russia’s 13th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.3878% of Russia’s total exports (down from 2.4135% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Finland was Russia’s 14th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 18th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.6598% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.3673% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Finland

The major share of Russian exports to Finland in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 66.51% of Russia’s total exports to Finland (67.90% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.70% of Russia’s total exports to Finland (14.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.21% of Russia’s total exports to Finland (9.50% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.75% of Russia’s total exports to Finland (5.21% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
