Russia’s Trade with Lebanon

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Lebanon was $151,107,942, down 8.30% ($13,671,113) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $144,392,071, down 10.68% ($17,269,341) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $6,715,871, up 115.42% ($3,598,228) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $137,676,200, a 13.16% decrease ($20,867,569) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Lebanon was Russia’s 76th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 79th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0911% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0958% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Lebanon was Russia’s 65th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 70th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1397% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1441% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Lebanon was Russia’s 102nd largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 110th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0107% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0052% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 68.39% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (34.58% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 23.96% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (53.61% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.64% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (3.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.67% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (4.43% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.75% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (1.12% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 3rd quarter of 2019 over the 3rd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $56,749,935;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $4,628,194;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $4,531,520;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $764,675;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $530,736;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $452,718.
