Russia’s Trade with Macedonia

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Macedonia was $21,804,109, down 21.83% ($6,088,804) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Macedonia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 were $1,282,182, down 86.47% ($8,194,135) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Macedonia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $20,521,927, up 11.43% ($2,105,331) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Macedonia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $19,239,745, a 115.20% increase ($10,299,466) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Macedonia was Russia’s 125th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 117th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0131% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0162% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Macedonia was Russia’s 158th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (down from 122nd in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0012% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0084% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Macedonia was Russia’s 86th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 90th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0328% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0308% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Macedonia

The major share of Russian exports to Macedonia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.34% of Russia’s total exports to Macedonia (1.52% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 12.32% of Russia’s total exports to Macedonia (2.39% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $34,625;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $34,033;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $29,972;
  • Explosives; pyrotechnic products; matches; pyrophoric alloys; certain combustible preparations (HS code 36) - a decrease of $23,324;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - a decrease of $18,516;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $16,919;

Russia’s Imports from Macedonia

The major share of Russian imports from Macedonia in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 63.36% of Russia’s total imports from Macedonia (57.02% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 15.14% of Russia’s total imports from Macedonia (20.24% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.40% of Russia’s total imports from Macedonia (17.01% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
