Russia’s Trade with the Netherlands

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with the Netherlands totaled $11,391,668,072, up 4.23% ($462,758,497) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $10,378,909,876, up 2.99% ($301,439,104) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $1,012,758,196, up 18.95% ($161,319,393) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $9,366,151,680, a 1.52% increase ($140,119,711) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The Netherlands was Russia’s 3rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 6.8678% of Russia’s total trade (up from 6.3514% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 2nd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 10.0451% of Russia’s total exports (up from 8.9820% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 15th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 17th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.6192% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.4220% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to the Netherlands

The major share of Russian exports to the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 82.01% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (86.62% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.42% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (8.65% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.60% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (2.36% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
