Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 3rd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Turkey totaled $7,756,795,199, up 27.15% ($1,656,346,659) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $6,475,970,140, up 27.25% ($1,386,960,227) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2019 totaled $1,280,825,059, up 26.63% ($269,386,432) from the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was $5,195,145,081, a 27.41% increase ($1,117,573,795) over the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Turkey was Russia’s 5th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 8th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 4.6764% of Russia’s total trade (up from 3.5453% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Turkey was Russia’s 3rd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 6th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 6.2677% of Russia’s total exports (up from 4.5358% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Turkey was Russia’s 11th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (up from 13th in the 3rd quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.0477% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.6892% in the 3rd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 51.80% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (68.78% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.54% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (18.22% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.71% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (6.99% in the 3rd quarter of 2018);
