Russia’s Trade with Angola

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Angola was $16,685,183, down 64.78% ($30,694,226) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Angola in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $16,578,182, down 5.16% ($902,182) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Angola in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $107,001, down 99.64% ($29,792,044) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Angola went from a deficit of $12,418,681 in the 4th quarter of 2018, to a surplus of $16,471,181 in the 4th quarter of 2019.

Angola was Russia’s 122nd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (down from 106th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0093% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0254% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Angola was Russia’s 108th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 115th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0148% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0140% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

  • Fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 03) - an increase of $280,746;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $152,697;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $143,954;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $86,272;
  • Impregnated, coated, covered or laminated textile fabrics; textile articles of a kind suitable for industrial use (HS code 59) - an increase of $54,200.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Angola in the 4th quarter of 2019 over the 4th quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $299,568;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $188,587;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $171,808;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $114,766;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $67,172;
  • Ceramic products (HS code 69) - a decrease of $58,068.
