Russia’s Trade with Chile

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Chile was $281,017,101, down 5.07% ($14,997,683) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Chile in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $27,159,262, down 3.07% ($859,432) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Chile in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $253,857,839, down 5.28% ($14,138,251) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Chile in the 4th quarter of 2019 was $226,698,577, a 5.53% decrease ($13,278,819) over the 4th quarter of 2018.

Chile was Russia’s 66th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1562% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1584% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Chile was Russia’s 97th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 102nd in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0243% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0225% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 30.17% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (26.70% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 8.49% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (1.88% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 7.43% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (21.70% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.27% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (5.19% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.46% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (6.05% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $1,668,867;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $1,214,606;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $628,676;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $140,670;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $128,621;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $118,615;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - an increase of $117,803;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $97,015.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Chile in the 4th quarter of 2019 over the 4th quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $2,714,992;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $1,344,774;
