Russia’s Trade with Luxembourg

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Luxembourg totaled $73,106,362, up 3.75% ($2,639,652) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $14,649,800, down 14.04% ($2,392,097) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Luxembourg in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $58,456,562, up 9.42% ($5,031,749) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Luxembourg in the 4th quarter of 2019 was $43,806,762, a 20.40% increase ($7,423,846) over the 4th quarter of 2018.

Luxembourg was Russia’s 90th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 97th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0406% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0377% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Luxembourg was Russia’s 110th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 117th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0131% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0137% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Luxembourg was Russia’s 74th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 75th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0859% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0857% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Luxembourg

The major share of Russian exports to Luxembourg in the 4th quarter of 2019 (and in the 4th quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 75.24% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (72.65% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.45% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (20.51% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.71% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (2.64% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.78% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (1.97% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.70% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (1.68% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 4th quarter of 2019 over the 4th quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $203,967;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $45,986.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 4th quarter of 2019 over the 4th quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $1,358,237;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $1,041,938;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $94,405;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $72,152.

Russia’s Imports from Luxembourg
