Russia’s Trade with Mexico

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Mexico was $670,925,542, down 7.22% ($52,187,802) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Mexico in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $346,880,419, down 24.41% ($112,045,709) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Mexico in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $324,045,123, up 22.66% ($59,857,907) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Mexico in the 4th quarter of 2019 was $22,835,296, a 88.27% decrease ($171,903,616) over the 4th quarter of 2018.

Mexico was Russia’s 46th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (down from 44th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3730% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3870% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Mexico was Russia’s 51st largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (down from 41st in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3102% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3686% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Mexico was Russia’s 34th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 37th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.4763% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4238% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Mexico

The major share of Russian exports to Mexico in the 4th quarter of 2019 (and in the 4th quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 60.84% of Russia’s total exports to Mexico (74.59% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 20.42% of Russia’s total exports to Mexico (12.40% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 15.44% of Russia’s total exports to Mexico (1.15% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.04% of Russia’s total exports to Mexico (2.10% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.81% of Russia’s total exports to Mexico (1.86% in the 4th quarter of 2018);

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $31,624,281;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $6,927,945;

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $2,573,512;
  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - a decrease of $2,160,848;
  • Other base metals; cermets; articles thereof (HS code 81) - a decrease of $1,793,803;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,741,968.
