Russia’s Trade with North Korea

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with North Korea was $9,515,451, down 43.09% ($7,205,558) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to North Korea in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $8,337,269, down 48.65% ($7,899,661) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from North Korea in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $1,178,182, up 143.39% ($694,103) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with North Korea in the 4th quarter of 2019 was $7,159,087, a 54.55% decrease ($8,593,764) over the 4th quarter of 2018.

North Korea was Russia’s 130th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 131st in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0053% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0089% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

North Korea was Russia’s 117th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 118th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0075% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0130% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

North Korea was Russia’s 127th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 138th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0017% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0008% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 30.48% of Russia’s total exports to North Korea (20.45% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 10.94% of Russia’s total exports to North Korea (1.84% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
