Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Peru totaled $188,080,219, up 85.87% ($86,889,190) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $90,059,480, up 70.77% ($37,321,334) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $98,020,739, up 102.30% ($49,567,856) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Peru went from a surplus of $4,285,263 in the 4th quarter of 2018, to a deficit of $7,961,259 in the 4th quarter of 2019.

Peru was Russia’s 74th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 89th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1046% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0542% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Peru was Russia’s 72nd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 89th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0805% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0424% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Peru was Russia’s 63rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 76th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1441% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0777% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2019 (and in the 4th quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 21.06% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (31.98% in the 4th quarter of 2018);

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $620,914;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $413,566;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $383,121;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $292,192.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2019 over the 4th quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $4,178,006;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $986,996;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $553,016;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - a decrease of $543,080.
