Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 4th quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Turkey totaled $6,456,244,450, up 3.16% ($198,018,686) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2019 were $4,949,305,552, down 2.34% ($118,544,711) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2019 totaled $1,506,938,898, up 26.59% ($316,563,397) from the 4th quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2019 was $3,442,366,654, a 11.22% decrease ($435,108,108) over the 4th quarter of 2018.

Turkey was Russia’s 8th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2019 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 3.5894% of Russia’s total trade (up from 3.3496% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Turkey was Russia’s 6th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2019 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 4.4253% of Russia’s total exports (up from 4.0708% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

Turkey was Russia’s 9th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2019 (up from 12th in the 4th quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.2152% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.9094% in the 4th quarter of 2018).

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 4th quarter of 2019 (and in the 4th quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 64.46% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (65.59% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.59% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (9.97% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.00% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (18.32% in the 4th quarter of 2018);
