In 2019, Russia’s trade with Brazil was $4,602,980,842, down 8.93% ($451,329,610) from 2018.

Russia’s exports to Brazil in 2019 were $2,454,835,322, down 5.01% ($129,515,920) from 2018.

Russia’s imports from Brazil in 2019 were $2,148,145,520, down 13.03% ($321,813,690) from 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Brazil in 2019 was $306,689,802, a 168.10% increase ($192,297,770) over 2018.

Brazil was Russia’s 30th largest trading partner in 2019 (just as in 2018), accounting for 0.6906% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7345% in 2018).

Brazil was Russia’s 36th largest export market in 2019 (just as in 2018), accounting for 0.5806% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.5743% in 2018).

Brazil was Russia’s 26th largest supplier in 2019 (down from 22nd in 2018), accounting for 0.8812% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.0371% in 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Brazil

The major share of Russian exports to Brazil in 2019 (and in 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 80.39% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (76.41% in 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 13.78% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (18.87% in 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.27% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (2.16% in 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.95% of Russia’s total exports to Brazil (1.90% in 2018);

Russia’s Imports from Brazil

The major share of Russian imports from Brazil in 2019 (and in 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 12.48% of Russia’s total imports from Brazil (8.12% in 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 7.15% of Russia’s total imports from Brazil (20.88% in 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.41% of Russia’s total imports from Brazil (5.32% in 2018).
