In 2019, Russia’s trade with Tanzania was $167,866,330, down 24.19% ($53,577,407) from 2018.

Russia’s exports to Tanzania in 2019 were $131,105,195, down 26.84% ($48,101,026) from 2018.

Russia’s imports from Tanzania in 2019 were $36,761,135, down 12.97% ($5,476,381) from 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tanzania in 2019 was $94,344,060, a 31.12% decrease ($42,624,645) over 2018.

Tanzania was Russia’s 104th largest trading partner in 2019 (down from 98th in 2018), accounting for 0.0252% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0322% in 2018).

Tanzania was Russia’s 96th largest export market in 2019 (down from 92nd in 2018), accounting for 0.0310% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0398% in 2018).

Tanzania was Russia’s 98th largest supplier in 2019 (down from 96th in 2018), accounting for 0.0151% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0177% in 2018).

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 80.56% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (86.21% in 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.45% of Russia’s total exports to Tanzania (8.68% in 2018);

  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - a decrease of $2,184,740;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $652,235;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $466,172.

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Tanzania in 2019 over 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruits; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (HS code 12) - an increase of $2,435,113;
  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - an increase of $319,469.
