In 2019, Russia’s trade with Zimbabwe was $33,099,868, down 27.80% ($12,744,778) from 2018.

Russia’s exports to Zimbabwe in 2019 were $3,215,712, down 66.89% ($6,495,317) from 2018.

Russia’s imports from Zimbabwe in 2019 were $29,884,156, down 17.30% ($6,249,461) from 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Zimbabwe in 2019 was $26,668,444, a 0.93% increase ($245,856) over 2018.

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 144th largest trading partner in 2019 (down from 135th in 2018), accounting for 0.0050% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0067% in 2018).

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 166th largest export market in 2019 (down from 156th in 2018), accounting for 0.0008% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0022% in 2018).

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 101st largest supplier in 2019 (down from 98th in 2018), accounting for 0.0123% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0152% in 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Zimbabwe

The major share of Russian exports to Zimbabwe in 2019 (and in 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 49.46% of Russia’s total exports to Zimbabwe (29.03% in 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 26.34% of Russia’s total exports to Zimbabwe (8.62% in 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.83% of Russia’s total exports to Zimbabwe (54.70% in 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.26% of Russia’s total exports to Zimbabwe (7.64% in 2018).

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Zimbabwe in 2019 over 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $4,937,218;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $1,257,960;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $453,805;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $134,591;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - a decrease of $45,141.
