Russia’s Trade with Afghanistan

In the 1st quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Afghanistan was $22,575,839, down 11.19% ($2,843,332) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Afghanistan in the 1st quarter of 2020 were $21,071,204, down 12.75% ($3,080,313) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Afghanistan in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $1,504,635, up 18.69% ($236,981) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Afghanistan in the 1st quarter of 2020 was $19,566,569, a 14.50% decrease ($3,317,294) over the 1st quarter of 2019.

Afghanistan was Russia’s 113th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2020 (down from 111th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0159% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0161% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Afghanistan was Russia’s 99th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2020 (down from 97th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0237% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0231% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Afghanistan was Russia’s 122nd largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 129th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0028% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0024% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $1,213,455;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $476,307;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - a decrease of $441,638;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $314,359;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $278,929;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $103,834;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $90,833;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $76,139.
