The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Egypt (0.7370% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Algeria (0.2386%), Morocco (0.2370%), South Africa (0.1289%), and Tunisia (0.0949%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Egypt (0.9743% of Russia’s total exports), Algeria (0.3774%), Morocco (0.1982%), Tunisia (0.1038%), and Sudan (0.0990%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Egypt (0.3399% of Russia’s total imports), Morocco (0.3020%), South Africa (0.2739%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.0947%), and Tunisia (0.0800%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019:

  • The share of Egypt in Russia’s total exports declined from 1.6370% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.9743% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Algeria in Russia’s total exports declined from 0.6930% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.3774% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Djibouti in Russia’s total exports declined 28.5-fold from 0.0057% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0002% in the 1st quarter of the 2020.
