The top ten Russia’s trade partners in Asia in the 1st quarter of 2020 were China (17.2635% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Turkey (3.9231%), South Korea (3.4864%), Japan (3.0028%), Kazakhstan (2.9908%), India (1.5941%), Uzbekistan (0.8654%), Vietnam (0.7909%), Taiwan (0.7902%), the United Arab Emirates (0.7045%);

The top ten Russia’s export markets in Asia in the 1st quarter of 2020 were China (14.5681% of Russia’s total exports), Turkey (4.9075%), South Korea (3.8262%), Kazakhstan (3.5502%), Japan (2.7535%), India (1.4508%), Uzbekistan (1.0860%), the United Arab Emirates (1.0597%), Taiwan (0.7619%), and Azerbaijan (0.5606%);

The top ten Russia’s import suppliers from Asia in the 1st quarter of 2020 were China (21.7752% of Russia’s total imports), Japan (3.4201%), South Korea (2.9176%), Turkey (2.2754%), Kazakhstan (2.0544%), India (1.8339%), Vietnam (1.6163%), Taiwan (0.8377%), Indonesia (0.8004%), and Thailand (0.7238%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Asia in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019:

  • The share of Kazakhstan in Russia’s total exports rose from 2.6793% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 3.5502% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of the United Arab Emirates in Russia’s total exports rose 3.3-fold from 0.3185% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 1.0597% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Thailand in Russia’s total exports declined 3.2-fold from 0.2302% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0710% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Lebanon in Russia’s total exports declined 5.4-fold from 0.1819% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0335% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Vietnam in Russia’s total exports rose 2.1-fold from 0.1448% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.2978% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Turkmenistan in Russia’s total exports rose 4.4-fold from 0.0578% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.2542% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Sri Lanka in Russia’s total exports rose 10.1-fold from 0.0164% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.1658% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of South Korea in Russia’s total imports declined from 3.6587% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 2.9176% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
  • The share of Jordan in Russia’s total imports rose 9.7-fold from 0.0040% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0389% in the 1st quarter of the 2020.
