Russia’s Trade with Honduras

In the 1st quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Honduras totaled $19,897,906, up 57.74% ($7,283,698) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $15,004,696, up 83.66% ($6,834,891) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $4,893,210, up 10.10% ($448,807) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 was $10,111,486, a 171.42% increase ($6,386,084) over the 1st quarter of 2019.

Honduras was Russia’s 116th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 130th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0140% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0080% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Honduras was Russia’s 104th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 121st in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0169% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0078% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Honduras was Russia’s 104th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 106th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0092% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0084% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Honduras

The major share of Russian exports to Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 60.21% of Russia’s total exports to Honduras (16.82% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 38.89% of Russia’s total exports to Honduras (63.44% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.08% of Russia’s total exports to Honduras (19.74% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $7,653,276;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $651,801;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $109,611.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $1,598,127.

Russia’s Imports from Honduras

The major share of Russian imports from Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 75.09% of Russia’s total imports from Honduras (96.03% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 24.59% of Russia’s total imports from Honduras (1.35% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.02% of Russia’s total imports from Honduras (1.82% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted (HS code 61) - an increase of $1,068,132;
  • Other made up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags (HS code 63) - an increase of $76,260;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $32,392.

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Honduras in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - a decrease of $375,866;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - a decrease of $245,839;
  • Soap, organic surface-active agents, washing preparations, lubricating preparations, artificial waxes, prepared waxes, polishing or scouring preparations, candles and similar articles, modeling pastes, "dental waxes" and dental preparations with a basis of plaster (HS code 34) - a decrease of $77,068.
