Russia’s Trade with Indonesia

In the 1st quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Indonesia totaled $597,134,786, up 8.07% ($44,583,219) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $171,676,706, up 13.15% ($19,954,730) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $425,458,080, up 6.14% ($24,628,489) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2020 was $253,781,374, a 1.88% increase ($4,673,759) over the 1st quarter of 2019.

Indonesia was Russia’s 43rd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 47th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.4201% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3510% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Indonesia was Russia’s 62nd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 65th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1929% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1454% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Indonesia was Russia’s 28th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2020 (down from 27th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.8004% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.7557% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Indonesia

The major share of Russian exports to Indonesia in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 39.64% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (12.30% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 30.78% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (34.21% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.01% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (24.18% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.52% of Russia’s total exports to Indonesia (13.95% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
