Russia’s Trade with Jamaica

In the 1st quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Jamaica totaled $30,221,487, up 0.57% ($171,813) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $1,279,425, up 17.54% ($190,923) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 were $28,942,062, down 0.07% ($19,110) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 was $27,662,637, a 0.75% decrease ($210,033) over the 1st quarter of 2019.

Jamaica was Russia’s 107th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 110th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0213% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0191% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Jamaica was Russia’s 145th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2020 (up from 157th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0014% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0010% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

Jamaica was Russia’s 80th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2020 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0544% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0546% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

The major share of Russian exports to Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 98.08% of Russia’s total exports to Jamaica (90.11% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.16% of Russia’s total exports to Jamaica (7.14% in the 1st quarter of 2019).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $274,040.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $51,708;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $24,661;

Russia’s Imports from Jamaica

The major share of Russian imports from Jamaica in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 98.96% of Russia’s total imports from Jamaica (99.44% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.03% of Russia’s total imports from Jamaica (0.56% in the 1st quarter of 2019).
