In the 1st quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Nicaragua totaled $16,943,265, up 25.22% ($3,412,232) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Nicaragua in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $12,763,681, up 10.74% ($1,237,634) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Nicaragua in the 1st quarter of 2020 totaled $4,179,584, up 108.46% ($2,174,598) from the 1st quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Nicaragua in the 1st quarter of 2020 was $8,584,097, a 9.84% decrease ($936,964) over the 1st quarter of 2019.

The major share of Russian imports from Nicaragua in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 90.12% of Russia’s total imports from Nicaragua (91.64% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.17% of Russia’s total imports from Nicaragua (0.00% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 2.93% of Russia’s total imports from Nicaragua (7.83% in the 1st quarter of 2019).
