Russia’s Trade with Sweden
In the 1st quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Sweden was $741,794,682, down 27.09% ($275,625,223) from the 1st quarter of 2019.
Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2020 were $296,436,798, down 45.05% ($242,996,615) from the 1st quarter of 2019.
Russia’s imports from Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2020 were $445,357,884, down 6.83% ($32,628,608) from the 1st quarter of 2019.
Russia’s trade balance with Sweden went from a surplus of $61,446,921 in the 1st quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $148,921,086 in the 1st quarter of 2020.
Sweden was Russia’s 39th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2020 (down from 32nd in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5219% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.6463% in the 1st quarter of 2019).
Sweden was Russia’s 46th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2020 (down from 36th in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3331% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5168% in the 1st quarter of 2019).
Sweden was Russia’s 25th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2020 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.8378% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.9011% in the 1st quarter of 2019).
Russia’s Exports to Sweden
The major share of Russian exports to Sweden in the 1st quarter of 2020 (and in the 1st quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 48.15% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (67.66% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 34.31% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (20.56% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.63% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (3.92% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.56% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (3.53% in the 1st quarter of 2019);
