Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Cambodia was $31,654,443, down 34.89% ($16,964,412) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $978,095, down 52.68% ($1,088,805) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $30,676,348, down 34.10% ($15,875,607) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $29,698,253, a 33.24% decrease ($14,786,802) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Cambodia was Russia’s 105th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 96th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0259% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0304% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Cambodia was Russia’s 146th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 144th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0014% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0021% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Cambodia was Russia’s 79th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 74th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0589% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0785% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Cambodia

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 39.49% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (76.92% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.94% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (8.38% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 16.05% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (6.82% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.10% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (4.65% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.08% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (0.00% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.75% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (0.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $52,241;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $44,847;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $19,814;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $16,970;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $14,865;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - an increase of $13,809;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $7,456;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $4,480;
  • Miscellaneous articles of base metal (HS code 83) - an increase of $3,363;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $2,940.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $1,336,850;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $66,058;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $47,585;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $40,842;

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia

The major share of Russian imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 91.14% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (94.79% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 5.01% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (0.76% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.17% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (1.60% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
