Russia’s Trade with Denmark

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Denmark was $643,336,678, down 33.47% ($323,618,462) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $351,256,130, down 47.33% ($315,682,107) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $292,080,548, down 2.65% ($7,936,355) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $59,175,582, a 83.87% decrease ($307,745,752) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Denmark was Russia’s 37th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 34th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5273% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.6040% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Denmark was Russia’s 43rd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 32nd in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5024% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6619% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Denmark was Russia’s 32nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 35th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5607% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.5057% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Denmark

The major share of Russian exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 62.02% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (75.27% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.72% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (13.19% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 10.82% of Russia’s total exports to Denmark (5.88% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);

  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $1,352,334.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Denmark in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $284,181,344;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $36,254,574;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $4,800,451;
