Russia’s Trade with Greece

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Greece was $427,409,226, down 39.30% ($276,704,142) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Greece in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $371,561,751, down 42.09% ($270,086,767) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Greece in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $55,847,475, down 10.59% ($6,617,375) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Greece in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $315,714,276, a 45.49% decrease ($263,469,392) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Greece was Russia’s 47th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 40th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3503% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4398% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Greece was Russia’s 41st largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 35th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5314% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.6368% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Greece was Russia’s 69th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 68th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1072% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1053% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Greece

The major share of Russian exports to Greece in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 83.31% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (83.64% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 10.59% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (11.16% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.11% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (1.32% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.53% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (1.58% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Greece in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $26,802,782;
