Russia’s Trade with Hong Kong
In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Hong Kong totaled $786,853,891, up 108.43% ($409,346,062) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s exports to Hong Kong in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $677,361,517, up 173.13% ($429,364,187) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s imports from Hong Kong in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $109,492,374, down 15.46% ($20,018,125) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s trade surplus with Hong Kong in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $567,869,143, a 379.27% increase ($449,382,312) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Hong Kong was Russia’s 28th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 59th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.6449% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.2358% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Hong Kong was Russia’s 21st largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 54th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.9688% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2461% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Hong Kong was Russia’s 55th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.2102% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2183% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Russia’s Exports to Hong Kong
The major share of Russian exports to Hong Kong in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:
- Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 37.63% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (64.97% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.27% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (0.81% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.94% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (7.81% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.43% of Russia’s total exports to Hong Kong (0.59% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
