Russia’s Trade with Hungary

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Hungary was $967,817,287, down 39.18% ($623,559,536) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Hungary in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $443,875,479, down 58.01% ($613,273,392) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Hungary in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $523,941,808, down 1.93% ($10,286,144) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Hungary went from a surplus of $522,920,919 in the 2nd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $80,066,329 in the 2nd quarter of 2020.

Hungary was Russia’s 24th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 21st in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.7932% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9941% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Hungary was Russia’s 22nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 26th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.0059% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.9005% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Hungary

The major share of Russian exports to Hungary in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 90.57% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (91.63% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.58% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (6.40% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.15% of Russia’s total exports to Hungary (0.51% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
