Russia’s Trade with India

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with India was $1,717,051,496, down 39.73% ($1,131,856,850) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to India in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $1,050,323,599, down 45.46% ($875,571,928) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from India in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $666,727,897, down 27.77% ($256,284,922) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with India in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $383,595,702, a 61.75% decrease ($619,287,006) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

India was Russia’s 16th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.4073% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.7796% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

India was Russia’s 16th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 15th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.5022% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.9113% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

India was Russia’s 18th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 16th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.2800% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.5559% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The major share of Russian exports to India in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 24.48% of Russia’s total exports to India (14.04% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
