In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Iraq was $23,040,058, down 85.26% ($133,293,872) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $22,834,058, down 85.39% ($133,499,872) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $206,000, up ∞% ($206,000) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $22,628,058, a 85.53% decrease ($133,705,872) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Iraq was Russia’s 113th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 74th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0189% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0977% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Iraq was Russia’s 96th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 61st in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0327% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1551% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Iraq was Russia’s 137th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (there were no Russia’s imports from Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0004% of Russia’s total imports.

Russia’s Exports to Iraq

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 29.54% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (3.08% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 26.32% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (5.33% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 14.63% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (4.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);

  • Products of the milling industry; malt; starches; inulin; wheat gluten (HS code 11) - an increase of $215,874;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $194,164;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $121,668;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $114,159;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - an increase of $108,710;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $81,952.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $3,981,064;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $2,895,256;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $2,546,570;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $1,404,406;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $1,147,442;
  • Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $376,824;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - a decrease of $252,733;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $149,586;
  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - a decrease of $139,924;
