Russia’s Trade with Luxembourg

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Luxembourg totaled $77,548,876, up 41.19% ($22,624,501) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $15,304,731, up 6.55% ($940,394) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $62,244,145, up 53.46% ($21,684,107) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $46,939,414, a 79.19% increase ($20,743,713) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Luxembourg was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 94th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0636% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0343% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Luxembourg was Russia’s 110th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 111th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0219% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0143% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Luxembourg was Russia’s 66th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 76th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1195% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0684% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Luxembourg

The major share of Russian exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 83.98% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (87.39% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.34% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (6.66% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.43% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (1.00% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.64% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (1.86% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 0.53% of Russia’s total exports to Luxembourg (2.94% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $1,041,775;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $299,551.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Luxembourg in the 2nd quarter of 2020 over the 2nd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $229,932;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $169,458;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $46,801.

Russia’s Imports from Luxembourg
