Russia’s Trade with Romania

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Romania was $658,820,269, down 46.50% ($572,520,062) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $460,340,262, down 46.75% ($404,121,632) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $198,480,007, down 45.90% ($168,398,430) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $261,860,255, a 47.37% decrease ($235,723,202) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Romania was Russia’s 36th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 28th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5400% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7692% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Romania was Russia’s 27th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 26th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.6584% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.8579% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Romania was Russia’s 42nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 31st in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3810% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.6184% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Romania

The major share of Russian exports to Romania in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 71.94% of Russia’s total exports to Romania (78.85% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 12.44% of Russia’s total exports to Romania (10.37% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
