Russia’s Trade with Saudi Arabia
In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Saudi Arabia totaled $472,027,043, up 117.27% ($254,777,358) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s exports to Saudi Arabia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $423,126,968, up 172.56% ($267,883,236) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s imports from Saudi Arabia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $48,900,075, down 21.14% ($13,105,878) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Russia’s trade surplus with Saudi Arabia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $374,226,893, a 301.37% increase ($280,989,114) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.
Saudi Arabia was Russia’s 44th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 68th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3869% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1357% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Saudi Arabia was Russia’s 34th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 62nd in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.6052% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1541% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Saudi Arabia was Russia’s 72nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 69th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0939% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1045% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
Russia’s Exports to Saudi Arabia
The major share of Russian exports to Saudi Arabia in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 32.75% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (31.55% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 13.54% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (16.39% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.15% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (2.79% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.70% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (28.86% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.03% of Russia’s total exports to Saudi Arabia (9.04% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
