Russia’s Trade with Thailand

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Thailand was $381,488,636, down 36.99% ($223,975,391) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $75,241,717, down 57.97% ($103,756,145) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $306,246,919, down 28.19% ($120,219,246) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $231,005,202, a 6.65% decrease ($16,463,101) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Thailand was Russia’s 50th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 42nd in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3127% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3782% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Thailand was Russia’s 70th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 59th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1076% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1776% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Thailand was Russia’s 30th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 29th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5879% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.7189% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Thailand

The major share of Russian exports to Thailand in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 48.93% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (45.52% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 25.03% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (15.54% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.54% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (13.19% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 8.68% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (3.46% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
