Russia’s Trade with the Czech Republic

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with the Czech Republic was $1,214,093,623, down 41.84% ($873,560,917) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to the Czech Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $418,311,104, down 64.59% ($763,104,030) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from the Czech Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $795,782,519, down 12.19% ($110,456,887) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with the Czech Republic went from a surplus of $275,175,728 in the 2nd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $377,471,415 in the 2nd quarter of 2020.

The Czech Republic was Russia’s 20th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 18th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.9951% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.3041% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The Czech Republic was Russia’s 35th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 20th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5983% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.1725% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The Czech Republic was Russia’s 14th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 17th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.5278% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.5276% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to the Czech Republic

The major share of Russian exports to the Czech Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 46.04% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (60.92% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 13.56% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (5.31% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.17% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (12.09% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.51% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (8.20% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
