Russia’s Trade with the Dominican Republic

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with the Dominican Republic was $13,755,805, down 44.55% ($11,051,104) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $3,873,578, down 76.67% ($12,732,767) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $9,882,227, up 20.51% ($1,681,663) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with the Dominican Republic went from a surplus of $8,405,781 in the 2nd quarter of 2019, to a deficit of $6,008,649 in the 2nd quarter of 2020.

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 122nd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 113th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0113% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0155% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 128th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 107th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0055% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0165% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 96th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 100th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0190% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0138% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The major share of Russian exports to the Dominican Republic in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.49% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (2.54% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.94% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (73.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 2.29% of Russia’s total exports to the Dominican Republic (0.00% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $12,113,165;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $463,534;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $410,752;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $179,636;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - a decrease of $92,157.

Russia’s Imports from the Dominican Republic
