Russia’s Trade with the Netherlands

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with the Netherlands was $6,021,713,112, down 53.68% ($6,977,977,563) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $5,123,114,068, down 57.38% ($6,897,024,787) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $898,599,044, down 8.26% ($80,952,776) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $4,224,515,024, a 61.74% decrease ($6,816,072,011) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

The Netherlands was Russia’s 4th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 2nd in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 4.9356% of Russia’s total trade (down from 8.1203% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 3rd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 2nd in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 7.3273% of Russia’s total exports (down from 11.9290% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 12th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 14th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.7251% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.6512% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to the Netherlands

The major share of Russian exports to the Netherlands in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 77.04% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (85.27% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.63% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (10.07% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.40% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (1.92% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.24% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (1.88% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).
