Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Turkey was $4,000,829,973, down 30.79% ($1,780,276,103) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $3,019,269,401, down 35.60% ($1,669,148,277) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $981,560,572, down 10.17% ($111,127,826) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $2,037,708,829, a 43.33% decrease ($1,558,020,451) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Turkey was Russia’s 9th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 8th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 3.2792% of Russia’s total trade (down from 3.6112% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Turkey was Russia’s 7th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (down from 5th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 4.3183% of Russia’s total exports (down from 4.6529% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Turkey was Russia’s 11th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 12th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.8844% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.8419% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 32.79% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (17.26% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 25.07% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (67.08% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 21.46% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (10.08% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
