Russia’s Trade with Uzbekistan

In the 2nd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Uzbekistan totaled $1,430,933,643, up 16.70% ($204,803,729) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Uzbekistan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 totaled $1,157,135,232, up 25.50% ($235,124,943) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Uzbekistan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 were $273,798,411, down 9.97% ($30,321,214) from the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Uzbekistan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 was $883,336,821, a 42.96% increase ($265,446,157) over the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 18th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 29th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.1728% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.7659% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 15th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (up from 25th in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 1.6550% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.9150% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 34th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.5256% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.5126% in the 2nd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Uzbekistan

The major share of Russian exports to Uzbekistan in the 2nd quarter of 2020 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 37.33% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (25.93% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 18.61% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (24.13% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.74% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (9.12% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 9.11% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (12.61% in the 2nd quarter of 2019);
