Russia’s Trade with Angola

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Angola was $17,392,186, down 51.99% ($18,834,590) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Angola in the 3rd quarter of 2020 totaled $14,514,780, up 34.29% ($3,706,478) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Angola in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $2,877,406, down 88.68% ($22,541,068) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade balance with Angola went from a deficit of $14,610,172 in the 3rd quarter of 2019, to a surplus of $11,637,374 in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Angola was Russia’s 127th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 106th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0127% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0218% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Angola was Russia’s 111th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 120th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0185% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0105% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Angola was Russia’s 118th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 85th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0050% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0406% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Angola

The major share of Russian exports to Angola in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 78.35% of Russia’s total exports to Angola (72.19% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 9.82% of Russia’s total exports to Angola (19.73% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 8.89% of Russia’s total exports to Angola (0.00% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.65% of Russia’s total exports to Angola (6.54% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - an increase of $54,923.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Angola in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $1,159,028;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $430,065;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $419,670;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $105,735;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $71,982;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $60,209;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $43,760.
