Russia’s Trade with Bulgaria

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Bulgaria was $413,869,296, down 42.47% ($305,481,386) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Bulgaria in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $298,327,938, down 47.48% ($269,712,824) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Bulgaria in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $115,541,358, down 23.64% ($35,768,562) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade surplus with Bulgaria in the 3rd quarter of 2020 was $182,786,580, a 56.14% decrease ($233,944,262) over the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Bulgaria was Russia’s 50th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 40th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3030% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4337% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Bulgaria was Russia’s 44th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 37th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.3793% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.5498% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Bulgaria was Russia’s 56th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 50th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.1995% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2419% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Bulgaria

The major share of Russian exports to Bulgaria in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 73.18% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (80.50% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 12.96% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (10.94% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.31% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (5.18% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
