Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, Russia’s trade with Cambodia was $56,595,933, down 14.55% ($9,639,077) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 totaled $1,908,366, up 41.60% ($560,692) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 were $54,687,567, down 15.72% ($10,199,769) from the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 was $52,779,201, a 16.94% decrease ($10,760,461) over the 3rd quarter of 2019.

Cambodia was Russia’s 96th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 98th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0414% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0399% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Cambodia was Russia’s 150th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (up from 156th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0024% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0013% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Cambodia was Russia’s 70th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (down from 69th in the 3rd quarter of 2019), accounting for 0.0944% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1037% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

Russia’s Exports to Cambodia

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 48.16% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (42.98% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 18.19% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (15.31% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 17.21% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (23.01% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 14.15% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (12.71% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.91% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (1.83% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $395,120;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $343,295;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $270,007;
  • Preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk; bakers’ wares (HS code 19) - an increase of $125,619;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $45,600;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $14,167;
  • Preparations of vegetables, fruit, nuts or other parts of plants (HS code 20) - an increase of $13,283;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $11,791;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $6,030.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $171,283;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $135,869;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $106,893;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $76,134;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $68,168;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $66,747;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $47,468.

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia

The major share of Russian imports from Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2019) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 93.87% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (95.11% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.79% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (0.46% in the 3rd quarter of 2019);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 0.91% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (1.07% in the 3rd quarter of 2019).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2020 over the 3rd quarter of 2019 were recorded for the following product groups:
